FEMA's Funding Fiasco: Hurricanes vs. Migrants

My friends, during a recent press briefing, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said that FEMA doesn't have money to help victims of hurricanes.

You may be thinking, isn't that exactly what FEMA was created to do?

Yes, FEMA's very mission is to help people before, during, and after disasters. So how are they doing that for the victims of Hurricane Helene? Well, they're providing a one -time $750 payment to those who qualify.

You heard that correctly, $750. After that, according to Mayorkas, FEMA's out of money to help victims of future hurricanes this season. Meanwhile, FEMA spent over $1 billion to help migrants through the emergency food and shelter program the past two years.

This should absolutely infuriate every single American, and it would never happen under Donald Trump.
