Denver Mayor's Immigration Defiance: A Real Constitutional Crisis?

My friends, the Supreme Court has made it abundantly clear that it is the federal government’s responsibility to enforce immigration law.

Our immigration laws are fairly straightforward: if you're here illegally, the law calls for deportation, with possible exceptions for asylum seekers.

While states and cities are not required to actively assist in these deportation efforts, they also cannot obstruct or interfere with the federal government’s duty to enforce these laws.

However, the Mayor of Denver has boldly pledged to be a "fortress of resistance" against Trump’s deportation efforts.

As Senator Rand Paul aptly points out, doesn’t this kind of defiance amount to real insurrection?

Insurrection is, after all, the act of revolting against an established government.

I guess that would make this mayor an insurrectionist and a threat to our democracy.
