Speaker Trump?
Since Kevin McCarthy was voted out of his role as Speaker of the House, Donald Trump’s name has been floated as his replacement. Matt Gaetz even nominated him from the floor. You do not have to be a member of the House to become the speaker, so Trump would be eligible if he was voted in. Brian Kilmeade, of Fox News, completely embarrasses himself during an interview.

What is so embarrassing to people like Kilmeade about this?
I’m amazed by those who are more concerned about how something appears instead of simply doing the right thing and communicating it clearly.

Leaders identify the path and then inspire others to join them on it.
This is the problem with DC: we have too many people thinking about ‘paying their dues’ or ‘waiting for their turn’ or whatever.
I saw McCarthy said the majority leader picks the Speaker. Uh, while that may practically be what happens in most cases, the majority of the House decides.
Remember the time I served as a director of a non-profit + board president told me he was my boss.
I told him he wasn’t my boss: the majority of the board was.
When I served on the school board 20 years ago, I never would have told superintendent that I was his boss. I wasn’t. The board was.

My column
We have absolutely won on the issue of border security
Biden has to make it look like they’re changing laws in order to secure the border when there have been laws on the books (and funds) all along.
