House Control Hangs in Balance: Democracy at a Crossroads

My friends, Election Day was nearly one week ago — and we still do not technically know who will control the House of Representatives.

According to Decision Desk HQ, Republicans have won 216 seats and Democrats 209 — with 10 seats remaining undecided.

And with neither party reaching a majority of 218 seats just yet, we do not know which party will assume control of the chamber.

Statistically, Republicans have an 80% chance of maintaining a slim House majority because they only need to win 2 of the remaining 10 undecided races.

However, it’s still too close to call.

And the outcome has huge ramifications. A Republican victory gives Trump’s agenda a chance of being implemented.

A Democrat victory ensures obstructionism and sets the stage for a potential third impeachment.
