Liberty vs Government: A Conservative Christian Perspective

My friends, I have a shirt that reads, "I love my country, not my government."

The meaning should be obvious, but let me explain.

I love this nation as founded — our liberties, our Declaration, our Constitution.

It’s special because of how the Founders set it up.

But I do not love my government.

Why? Because it’s a constant threat to liberty, peace, and prosperity.

Government is force, and it should be as small as possible to carry out the responsibilities we delegate to it — not vice versa.

The Radical Left feels the opposite.

They hate this nation as founded but love those mismanaging it.

To them, government is god, and managing it is their religion.

Maybe they need a shirt that says, “I love my government, not my country.”
