Kamala Harris: The Invisible VP's Puzzling Brand Strategy
My friends, many years ago, I worked for a small marketing agency.
I didn’t know much about marketing and advertising when I started, but I learned a lot working there.
One thing I learned about was brand and the importance of things like brand awareness.
These things are very valuable in business and it’s why companies pour billions into branding.
Brand is important in politics, too.
Obama’s brand was incredibly well-crafted and positioned.
And Trump’s brand successfully set him apart from other Republican candidates.
But Kamala Harris has taken a different approach — one that desires the least amount of brand awareness possible.
The marketer in me cannot accept this strategy.
But the commentator in me understands that poor candidates succeed when they hide themselves from their constituents.
