My friends, back in the late 90s, when I studied political science and philosophy at Butler and American University, we’d talk about the Constitution and the separation of powers.
But let’s be honest — most people didn’t seem to care back then. Ironically, that apathy paved the way for much of the mess we’re dealing with today.
Now, the Left claims Trump’s actions — DOGE’s budget cuts, deporting criminal illegal aliens, and restructuring the Executive Branch — are proof he’s a dictator.
But the truth is, many of them don’t even know why they think that. They’re just emotionally invested in calling him a fascist.
Meanwhile, I’m over here wishing we’d respect the powers of all three branches.
Is constitutional literacy really too much to ask?
Maybe I should’ve majored in wishful thinking.
