  • Remember when people feared he’d not follow through?

  • He was elected as Speaker on October 25. That is just less than 6 weeks ago.

  • McCarthy was elected as Speaker on January 6 and was removed on October 3.

  • Remember: that would NOT have happened without Democrat support.

  • They thought helping Republicans move to a new Speaker would harm them politically, but it has not and it will not. (And if it does hurt them, which I sincerely doubt it will, it will not be for ideological reasons.)
