It's Abundantly Clear: Trump Should Be The Republican Nominee

Can you believe it? A year from now, we'll be heading to the polls, casting our votes for the next president, members of Congress, senators, and a host of other state and local officials. This upcoming election, my friends, may just be the most pivotal one we've ever seen.

Now, I know it's easy to get caught up in the here and now, to let our own experiences color our perspective. The truth is, many folks tend to view history starting from the day they were born. It's a common human quirk. But in this case, it's hard to overstate the significance of the events swirling around us and the impending election.

Let's take a moment to reflect on the turmoil that's unfolded since the last presidential election in 2020. It's been nothing short of a chaotic rollercoaster, my friends.

We've witnessed the House report that labeled Fiscal Year 2023 as the worst year on record for illegal immigration. A record number of terrorists managed to infiltrate our borders in the same year. US weaponry abandoned in Afghanistan found its way into the hands of Hamas, the very terrorists who threaten our ally Israel and push us closer to World War III.

And if that wasn't enough, America's debt has ballooned to over $33 trillion, an absolutely unsustainable financial path. Last year, inflation skyrocketed to a 40-year high, though President Biden wants credit for reducing the rate of inflation back to semi-normal levels these past few months. On top of that, Russia made its move into Ukraine on President Biden's watch, and China has been rattling its sabers, hinting at an invasion of Taiwan.

Israel finds itself in a constant battle against Hamas, other terrorist groups, and state sponsors of terrorism like Iran. And don't even get me started on the woke agenda that's sweeping across our land, from attacks on free speech to morally bankrupt initiatives targeting our kids.

What's crucial to remember is that these problems either sprouted or grew worse during the Biden administration. As a direct result of this presidency, we face incomprehensibly massive problems.

But here's the good news: we can turn the clock back in a sense, to the days before 2020 when these problems either didn't exist or were far less severe than they are today.

No, we can't time-travel and fix the mistakes of the past few years, starting with the election of Joseph Robinette Biden. At least not yet. But what we can do is re-elect Donald J. Trump as President of the United States. And that's exactly what we should do.

Candidly, my friends, when I started our talk radio show and podcast over 8 years ago, I never thought I'd find myself endorsing a presidential candidate during the primary. In fact, besides my wife and a few of my closest friends, I haven't disclosed who I voted for in the 2016 Republican presidential primary.

The reason is simple: primaries can be brutal for candidates. While I don't consider myself a die-hard Republican, I do recognize that the Republican Party is the only organized political force that gives limited government, conservative candidates a fighting chance. Publicly fighting in the primary can harm our chances in the general election. The traditional belief was that any Republican was a better choice than any Democrat, considering the political landscape.

But all that changed when Trump exposed the real Swamp.

We've known for decades that things were bad in Washington, D.C. We've known politicians are often professional deceivers, the bureaucratic state can be a nightmare, and Republican leaders are many times spineless cowards.

But here's the shocking part: it's even worse than we thought. Much worse. Now that we're fully aware of this, we demand candidates who'll genuinely fight against it.

Yet, we're skeptical. We've been let down. We've been deceived. We've seen Republican candidates and officeholders cave to political pressure time and time again. Deficits have soared, promises have evaporated, and we've witnessed very moderate presidential candidates and congressional leaders.

Then, there's the 2024 GOP presidential race, which has been, outside of Trump, a disaster, with a few exceptions. Some candidates seem to be in the wrong party, while others struggle to stand out or resort to parroting talking points. Still others have dropped out when it was highly advisable that they not even get started. The GOP debates are flying under the radar, and the party is slowly losing relevance, while Trump positions himself as an outsider, ready to finish what he started in 2016.

Trump has all the energy, all the momentum, and all the support. And for good reason.

I understand that some of you might have reservations about Trump, his tweets, or the legal challenges he's faced. You might hope that a milder candidate will receive fair treatment from the media. After all, it's Trump they despise, right?

Yes, they hate Trump. But they don’t stop there.

The Radical Left is at war with anyone who speaks the truth in our country today. They'll attack anyone who does. The intensity with Trump is merely because he fights back. We've never had a politician fight back like he does. When the media, academics, big tech, bureaucrats, pseudo-scientists, and celebrities attack, most Republicans just capitulate and cower.

But not Trump. He doubles down, triples down, quadruples down, whatever it takes. And it inspires legions to stand by him, in spite of his flaws.

In 2016, I noticed that Republican voters have two main grievances with their candidates: they're not conservative enough, and they don't fight back. This sense of being sold out runs deep among grassroots conservatives and everyday, rank-and-file Republicans.

But they don't feel that way about Trump, and I doubt they ever will.

For these reasons, and many more, I've supported Trump for President in 2024 since January 20, 2021.

I hope you and America do the same in 12 short months.
