The Anthem of Common Ground: Oliver Anthony's Song Echoes America's Unity
By now, my fellow Americans, you've surely been swept up in the stirring melody of Oliver Anthony's "Rich Men North of Richmond." This resounding anthem has done more than just touch our hearts; it has resonated with the frustration and anger of millions across this great nation.
But let's not downplay the significance – this song isn't merely music; it's a battle cry, a testament to the American spirit that refuses to be stifled by the antics of an out-of-control, corrupt government. As the beat reverberates, it carries with it the promise of an anthem that might soon accompany us to the voting booths, voicing our collective resolve for change.
This isn't a movement confined to one corner of society. No, my friends, it spans every demographic: race, background, social class, gender, religion — you name it. It's a chorus that echoes from urban centers to rural countrysides, uniting us in a shared exhaustion with the chaos plaguing our nation. The division, the corruption, the turmoil — they've taken their toll, and we're done tolerating it.
At the heart of it all, it's a declaration that we're done with them. The ruling class, the political elites, the modern-day oppressors — we've had our fill of their theatrics.
This anthem's appeal is nothing short of remarkable, indicating a near-universal recognition that the game is up. The curtain has been drawn back, revealing the charade that politicians and bureaucrats have used to divide us. And it's about time.
In a sea of powerful lyrics, there's one line that stands out to me:
“These rich men north of Richmond
Lord knows they all just wanna have total control
Wanna know what you think, wanna know what you do
And they don’t think you know, but I know that you do”
Indeed, my fellow Americans, we're no longer living in the dark regarding their pathetic antics. At least some of us, perhaps even many of us, see through the tactics employed by these professional deceivers in government. Increasingly, the jig is up for these jokers and clowns.
Allow me to remind you of a historical tidbit that holds relevance even today. During the American Revolution, roughly one-third of Americans supported independence, one-third remained loyal to the King of England, and another third remained neutral. Yet, against all odds, those who championed independence emerged victorious. It's a testament to the power of a steadfast belief in freedom; the willingness of the Founders to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the cause; and the grace and goodness of Almighty God.
The truth is, at heart, Americans still hold dear the principles on which this nation was founded. And yet, we've permitted professional deceivers and radicals in various positions of political power and influence to sow discord among us.
Their weapon of choice? Identity politics.
Their strategy? Make politics about personalities, not ideas.
Their goal? Silence alternative viewpoints, especially those rooted in truth.
Two years ago, my family and I embarked on a journey across this land that we call The Truth Tour. The folks I connected with on this journey and through our syndicated radio show and podcast helped open my eyes to the true pulse of the people. All across the fruited plain, I've engaged with individuals from all walks of life, listening intently to their stories, perspectives, and experiences.
Here's what I've learned: first, the mess we're grappling with today wasn't a choice that many intended to make at the ballot box. While some certainly voted against Trump, fueled by an irrational hatred ginned up by the duplicitous media, no one really voted for Biden's policies and agenda. There may be those who pretend otherwise to paint a rosy facade, but no one's content with this situation, except for the globalists and Radical Leftists. Fortunately, we outnumber these factions — significantly.
Second, the bedrock principles of America still resonate with the masses. The ideas enshrined in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence – the principles that remind us we're citizens, not subjects, that our rights come from our Creator, not the government, and that we are all equal – remain cherished values. As I often say, I believe 80% of this nation would find agreement with 80% of the opinions I share on our daily program. (And I still think those numbers are lower than they should be!)
America's foundation rests on ideas. Ideas that embody Truth. These very ideas catapulted her to unparalleled prosperity and liberty. And if these ideas — and others like them — made America great, then forsaking those ideas would inevitably strip her of her greatness. Rejecting the principles that birthed our nation's glory invites its downfall.
So, let's take a leap of reason: if we are to save America, we must rekindle the ideals that formed her. And to achieve this, we must uncover common ground. Common ground that absolutely exists.
I'm convinced that there's a wealth of common ground among the rank-and-file Americans. We, the lovers of this country, far outnumber the radicals who seek to remake it in the image of their pathetic, godless, wicked worldview. It's our responsibility to find this common ground without compromising our principles. Our task is to save America.
In the weeks to come, I will dedicate this column to the pursuit of identifying the common ground that exists between the vast majority of Americans, regardless of political party or our differences. This series, aptly titled "Common Ground," will delve into the issues that unite us, while offering insights on how to communicate about these shared values and ideas more effectively.
It's time to emerge from our echo chambers, engaging in the work that truly matters – communicating our foundational principles to reveal our common ground. Together, as Americans, we'll face the globalists and Radical Leftists who threaten to dismantle this nation.
I hope that you join me on this critical journey, my friends. Together, we'll unite around our shared values and prepare to fight back against the nonsense and corruption coming from Washington DC today. As we uncover common ground, we stand resolute in the knowledge that we are stewards of liberty and that the American people hold the power to reclaim our beloved America.
